The printability of a digital printing system depends not only on the printer itself but also on other factors. These include, but are not limited to, the substrate to be printed on, ink properties, drying systems, the technical parameters of the inkjet printhead, and the spacing between colours.
To ensure that all properties can be reliably evaluated and practically tested in advance, Matti offers our Inkjet Test Center.
In this way, we enable you to make simple, direct and precise comparisons of printing parameters. Thus you receive useful information regarding:

Our test platform is based on a novel conveyor system and enables precise position detection and thus high register accuracy. This is made possible by multiple linear encoders. These are located at the individual printbars within the system. This makes it easy to vary the spacing between the four (optionally seven) colours.
The test platform is designed to work simply and reliably in laboratory environments. But it can also be used to carry out test runs on an intermediate scale before a binding production start with new ink. The solution thus enables you to:
- Test new inks
- Test quick and efficient switching between different inks
- Optimise production parameters (colour spacing, drying)
- Gain confidence in new inks before they are used for projects and potentially cause waste and unforeseen downtime
Printbars
Different applications require different combinations of inkjet printheads and inks. Our Test Center is ideally suited for this: printbars with different printheads can be exchanged at any time. This enables you to test and evaluate different printheads while all tests are performed under the same conditions.
To ensure the best possible control of ink properties, all critical conditioning such as temperature and pressure control is performed in the printbars.
To facilitate maintenance and storage, the system is also equipped with a fully automated cleaning and capping system. All maintenance tasks are performed automatically and according to the recommendations of the printhead manufacturer.
Conveyor System
Thanks to our smart conveyor, various substrates such as paper, decor paper, metal or plastic film can be used. The surface of the conveyor can be coated with different adhesives, depending on the material used.
Our magnetically controlled conveyor can not only transmit position information to the printbars and thus ensure precise detection in the sub-10-micron range over the entire length, but also offers easy movement of the printbars while all colours remain in perfect register with each other.
